with all the news concerning the child abuse lawsuits, and from reading many comments concerning the wts' view of women, i started remembering lots of little things that were brought up at my kh in the many years i attended.
i don't remember anything pertaining to the brothers.
but, there were things brought up from the platform that just seem ridiculous.
I gave a talk on dress and grooming once and brought up the issue of a hem line. I asked the congo what elder they wanted stationed at the front door with a tape measure in hand
to measure skirt lengths. The sisters loved the talk. The elders hated it. They didn't bother the "borderline" sisters after that. God I loved sticking it to those self righteous dumbasses!
i'll tell you why i think so.. your opinions on this subject are welcomed.. nothing in the bible shows a set-up like the one the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses uses.
where in the bible is a "judicial committee" ever mentioned??
or "chairman of the committee"?
One side of my family is Catholic and my Mom always harped on their having to confess their sins to a priest. That was so obviously a sign of Satan's influence!!!
Well, as a kid with no sins to confess (until I started spanking the monkey) I went along with this. In time I learned that JW's were supposed to confess their sins, too---
but instead of just one guy, they had to confess to three guys! And then if you were really bad, shit! The WHOLE congo learned you were bad, whereas the priest kept it
a secret.

there is a discussion on another board that has to do with blood that has been drawn, and the poster said this:.

I haven;t heard of this at all.
the world wide jw publishers increased by only 1.6% in recent years, so it is only a matter of time until the wts will have to start showing a decrease in publishers.
here are some reasons why.
1. many young jw are 'rebellng' against wts authority and are becoming just like mini satans according to a recent wt article.
Whatever the net increase may be over time hides the fundamental number:TURNOVER
How many actually STAY a JW for a lifetime? That compared to Baptists, Catholics, Mormons, etc....
More and more are leaving. In time this cannot but help to create a critical mass of Ex-JW's that will far outnumber JW's.
yesterday we have a study of the watchtower about obedience and submission.
this study arose a lot of questions and heightened emotions in me and the interested retired judge sitting besides me.
we came accross the 9th pharagraph, page 28 of the april 1, 2007, where it says that: "it is easy to obey when everything is clear and we agree, but we will show that we are trully submissive if we yeild even when we do not personally understand the direction provided.
Since I was an elder and have not been to a meeting since the "Special Talk'' and have not turned in a field service report in 2 months, I had a conversation with my wife
about submitting to men. I told her I would never do it again. She said "You pay taxes. You obey those men, don't you?"
My reply: "Yes. And now I'll vote out of office whomever I think is an idiot. If we could vote on the GB members the same way, I might listen to them."
The conversation did not end well.
These last two articles really have shown up this bunch for what they really are.

) and have gone to kh for some talks and study every couple of weeks.
things like the new watchtower policy, selling buildings (i am from nyc and know the heights well - that will make a boatload of money), the sex abuse settlements, drop in membership and donations, and some of the changes i have seen in the magazine (the annointed qfr, for example).
I remember when they started using color in the publications. My family made a big deal about it, like it was some sign of God's blessing that Nathan Knorr discoverd red, blue and green.
The dubs like change. They love to hear "new truths". Only the dubs will prefer to discard a long held belief with its "sameness" for a new belief and its "newness."
Does anything change because of it? No. But it helps the WTS control what the dubs talk about it. They get to drive the agenda. They get to keep being "indispensable" to the lives of
their millions.

Most of the people at the WT Study will parrot this info. and have not a clue as to how dishonest the WTS is in their applications of these scriptures.
And always the "imperfect men" routine. Yet they make no such allowance for ministers in other churches.
The truth is the GB doesn't want any Rank and File witness making waves about the idiotic and sometimes criminal performance of the "men" whom they "appoint."
Why don't they tell the rank and file that in court cases these "GB appointmented" men are represented to be "unpaid volunteers"? Which are they?
I was one of these "appointed men" and let me tell you, the way you're treated by the branch is definitely more as an "unpaid volunteer" that resembles, in their estimation,
a mushroom.
i remember some time shortly after leaving the jws, i had some ask me this, and it was also brought back up again not to long ago.
what if the watchtower is correct?
would you regret leaving god's organization, knowing that you had it?
