I also can't see what the excitement is all about, it's just a minor change in the arrangements of a cultic organisation it's not as if they said they will stop shunning or preaching. No real change in their orientation.

Am I the only one bored with all the "Changes to The BS" discussions?
by Princess Daisy Boo ini mean seriously friends... what difference does this announcement make to the grand scheme of things?.
yes, it may be a huge change to the way they do things, but what effect will it really have?.
it is not like we can use it against them to prove that they are not a ucked fup horrible mind controlling cult.

Gee thanks, Governing Body
by easyreader1970 innow my wife is even more crazed with zeal than ever before.
the announcement has proven to her that the end is almost visible.
time has run out!

How gullible and naive are they, the change in the book study means that the end is near! Surely they need to sharpen their critical faculty and become more objective. Otherwise the FDS will find it very easy to manipulate them.

News Flash! Letter from Governing Body announcing meeting schedule changes
by mizzarco inthe watchtower meeting (this congregation meets on sat) that i just listened to via phone conference was cut 10 minutes short to have a letter read to all the congregation.
here are the highlights:.
- the governing body realizes that the pressures of this system of things are getting heavier on his people.. - just like the governing body of the 1st century, we do not want to add additional burden to you either.

Still the myth of the GB in the early church that never existed and the old complex of persecution by the devil. It looks like the book study is a big burden. It's not the one hour but rather the material that is a dead boring unbearable burden.

Is there any way to disable it?
by Honesty ini haven't found a method that works more than 10% of the time.. most methods work for only a few minutes before they are themselves disabled by the unit's software.. i am at my wits end and need the advice of the board.. is there any way to disable the watchtower society's autopilot that have been installed on all jw model drones?.

You should be a good hacker and hack it all to pieces, it is somewhere there at a deep level somewhere in the registry.

Do good works by JWs count for anything?
by greendawn inwe all know that the wts like so many other cults is an exploitative organisation that works with a great depth of deception that's not easy for many to grasp.
but will the works done by jws for this religion count in their favour if they were done in good faith?
at least the ones that didn't directly harm anyone?

I can understand that the WTS is a highly manipulative and exploitative organisation and that their gospel is false above all the banning of most dubs from being members of the body of christ which really destroys their entire prospect for as long as they believe in that lie.
But as Hortensia hinted what about ex JWs like us when we were doing that preaching really believing that it was the god approved thing to do? What if god would justify the deceived R&F but of course not the leadership who knew all along that this was a deception? Especially if the JWs moved out as soon as they realised what the real game was that they were victims and being used to victimise others? -

Job lost everything and still praised God???? Would you?
by Witness 007 inso jehovah and satan are in vegas and decide to place "a bet" that loyal servant job would still be faithful if he lost his money, family, wife's respect and health....and yes, he still praises jehovah!
is this logical?
if god arranged for your family to be killed and destroyed your health and finances would you say:"thank you sir can i have another!

To me it sounds like a mythical book that found its way in the Bible instead of being classified with the apocrypha. It was a mistake of the church fathers but then again they didn't do a bad job given the hundreds of bogus books circulating at the time.

JW answer to why Jesus was tortured to death...
by Spectrum in.. and not just quickly executed with a sword.
their answer is, "jehovah to show that a perfect person can withstand temptation under the harshest circumstances thereby proving that adam was not under undue duress when he took the fateful decision to follow lucifer".
so the more that christ was tortured and resisted the more this statement must be true.
-

That's a strange idea linking Jesus and Adam in that way and let's not forget it comes from people who, unlike genuine christians, seem to believe that jehovah rather than Jesus is the saviour of mankind.
Jesus had to suffer in order to break the kingdom of the devil, put to death the mosaic law, liberate mankind and set an example to his future followers in the matter of unselfish love. -

There is so much evidence around us to prove an Intelligent creator.
by nicolaou inthat's an 'ever so slightly' adapted quote from tophat on another thread; http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/108341/2880755/post.ashx#2880755.
i've been really dismissive of god/s, religion, faith and the abandoning of reason but when it comes to the 'argument from design', well you just have to give it a bit more .
respect?

I really can't see why evolutionists deny that random chance is part of the evolutionary process when it is obviously at the heart of it. Random mutations leading (supposedly) to new characteristics that if advantageous will not only lead on to the creation of a new species but also secure its survival. Now if that (random mutations) is not chance I don't know what chance is. Evolution is based on chance from start to finish from the first simplest living thing to man.

I am fed up with "Where else would I/We Go?"
by OnTheWayOut init is a standard answer that i get from the few jw's that i speak with.. "the organization has it's flaws, but where else would we go to be among.
people who strive to do [jehovah's/god's] will?".
"i don't understand all the doctrine, nor take it as seriously as you do, but .

Their trust worthiness is nil given their history they often misled their followers with their ideas into making life changes that proved unprofitable if not outright harmful and never once did they apologise to them. That's very arrogant and insensitive. My opinion is that there is no religion up to the right standard and all one can do is avoid all cultic organisations and perhaps associate loosely with a mainstream christian religion.

Needless to say the fuel price rises and some other nonsense are ridiculous excuses they cooked up leaving us guessing as to what the real reasons might be. My guess is that they are doing it to lessen the pressure on a frustrated and disillusioned audience that has to attend dull, uninspired, repetitive information meetings three times per week.
