what happens after Armageddon?
by cameo-d indidn't jesus say survivors would be "changed in the twinkling of an eye" ?.
didn't jesus say the dead would be resurrected first, before this change occurs?.
didn't jesus say he was going to prepare a place and we would be "taken" there to be with him?.

What does the bible really teach ....
by heathen ingot a copy and been reading it , the first chapter about how god doesn't like human suffering nor causes any of it seems like a fallacy to me .there are plenty of accounts where he personally killed allot of people , noahs ark , moses and pharoah ,it's pretty obvious that god likes to play god and the new testament says he will cause allot more suffering against his enemies .
anybody else with an opinion?

It is what is in a man's heart that corrupts him...
If people truly followed even just what Jesus spoke about on the Sermon on the Mount, life might be a little easier sometimes...

THE REAL REASON JW'S HAVE GROWN OVER THE DECADES... WHAT DO YOU THINK.?
by ?me? ini explained the other day to a friend of mine the real reason there are 7 million now as opposed to the 3 million or so in the 80's.
it goes back to the 50's 60's and 70' and continued into the 80's and 90's.
just think of all the families that are/were in your hall.

I sincerely believe their overall world-wide numbers are inflated. I seriously doubt there's been a substantial growth.
The Kingdom Hall I still belong to (though I haven't attended in a long time) has had the same members for years. A couple of new people will pop up for a short while and then disappear. What I do see is the kids that stay and go. Some get married and leave the congregation, others grow up to become publishers. But there has not been any kind of substantial growth.
Now in the town I grew up in, the Spanish congregations there have grown substantially, but again it's mostly family members that get baptized, become publishers, they keep having kids, etc. There aren't as many people coming in, as there are just family conversions.
Overall, I think someone in Crooklyn is changing a 1 into a 7 somewhere in order to fool everyone that the bOrganization is growing...
Just my opinion...

Marking, how is it supposed to work?
by searcher ini read at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/beliefs_and_practices_of_jehovah%27s_witnesses that witnesses... .
marking is practiced if a person's course of action is regarded as a violation of bible principles, reflecting badly on the congregation, but is not a disfellowshipping offense.
[104] the person is strongly counseled.

If they stop inviting you to weddings/graduation parties/etc, then you have been officially "marked"!

Challenges of apostasy: Attacking the Watchtower Beast
by easyreader1970 ini am an "active" jehovah's witness in that i go to the meetings, smile and nod, and pretend to go along with everything happening around me.
this is not because i believe that the wbts has any redeeming value but because i am trying to keep my family from being shred to pieces.
because of my "independent thinking" and use of rational thought, i would clearly be labeled "apostate" and ousted from my current congregation.

The reason it's so hard for JW's to let go of the WT Organization is because it is a huge, visible entity. They feel it must be guided by God Himself somehow, and there's very little to persuade them otherwise.
The fight is not to go against all JW's, but to help those who are wanting to get out,or who don't know where to turn to if they leave, or if they're even making the right decision. Those are the people that should be made aware of what they just came out of, and that they can turn to someone: Christ Jesus.
If you really want to "wake up" a JW, then there's not one single solution. For me, it was finding out about the UN scandal. That opened the door for me to start questioning. For others, it may be the flip-flops, or the '95 Generation change, or whatever.

Interesting calculation for the start of the GT and Christ's return
by Philippus79 inhi friends!
i found this quite interesting blog which gives evidence that the gt is about to start in autumn 2008 and jesus would return in 2012. at least for those who are still interested in bible chronology and prophecy it might be worth a read.
these guys seem to have no connection to ron weinland or the cog people, looks more like jws/exjws.

Help Requested PO and his wife coming over tomorrow for 'study'
by insearchoftruth inmy wife had a bible study with the sister and her daughter actually yesterday evening (i am guessing that the daughter needed some time), i was in the living room at the time, and i will post the notes from this conversation later this evening (at work now, don't have them here).
my wife had wanted to learn how to read the bible from them, but they of course manipulated her to a book study within two weeks!.
at the end of this bible study (they started the bible teach book, got to paragraph 13 in chapter one) the sister asked my wife if i still wanted to talk to her husband on wednesday, i said i would be very interested, but i want my wife and i to both be involved in the discussions (want to have her hear what we are talking about, firstly if i can ask an interesting question, and secondly i want her to see i am not a raging apostate to the gentleman - and he is a pretty nice guy).. .

I warned ya, man. Those JW's are tricky.
Hopefully the PO will bring up Michael and you guys can focus on that. If not, then I have another suggestion (but this may have to wait another week or two):
Are you familiar with the March 15, 1990 Watchtower? If not, I suggest you read up on the "requirements" they brought out in one of the articles in that magazine. If you compare what they state there with what they were ACTUALLY teaching back in 1919, I think that would make for a very interesting conversation with the PO because the WT didn't live up to those requirements. But it takes some time and research to get it all down on paper and ready.
