WT April 15th 2002
by petespal2002 inin a discussion of allowing godly principles rather than laws rule your life, para.
15 states, "following bible principles, we will avoid trying to live (or demand others to live) by an extensive and rigid set of do's and don'ts that go beyond the teachings of the bible.".
i've read on this site many times that jw's are ruled by man-made rules and regulations relating to all sorts of stupid topics.

What's the one thing you miss about the WTS?
by Naeblis inthere are times when ilook back fondly on my days in the witnesses, especially when i think on the congregation get togethers we would have every once in awhile (not too often) people from our hall and sometimes others would show up (not too many) and good times were had by all.
this is how the schedule usually went.. 8pm: arrive at the community centre.
8:05pm: scope the room.

What Am I thinking?????
by butalbee inwith all the recent hog wash going on in my life, i can't believe i am even entertaining this notion.
everybody on this board knows how i feel about this path, these beliefs, and here i am thinking, pondering wondering, maybe jehovahs witnesses do have something to offer me, maybe i need their 'close nit' love inside their congregations?
maybe i could see the truth, if i only opened my eyes to it and tried to accept it???

KILLER JWs NOT LIKELY BUT.............
by Liberty ini find it highly unlikely that the watchtower society would ever demand that their followers start armageddon by killing their/god's "enemies".
such a move would quickly spell the death of the jw movement as they are such a tiny minority of the general population and such crazed behaviour would be met with swift and complete irradication of the society by even the most tolerant governments.
the cowards who run the society would never risk such an assured loss of comfort, position, and money since any accomplishment gained from this desparate(irrational)action would be very short-lived.

Will the WBTS order JW's to Kill??
by Anne Marie indear post reader,.
about nine months ago, while surfing through different jw web sites, i came across a reference to an e-mail that was sent to the poster.. the e-mail basically said that with the way that things are going with the society, i.e., so many " waking up", and not being so easy to mislead and control., that there very likely will be a "big" announcement regarding the order to kill the "apostates" and the "wicked people".. the source said that it would go something like this:.
there would be talks, and some wordings in the magazines, alluding to an upcoming announcement.

Disturbing material in May 15, 2002 Watchtower
by spender inin the questions from readers section, the question was: "would it be advisable for a true christian to attend a funeral or a wedding in a church?".
to analyze this wonderful piece, i'm going to use their words, and translate them into real english.. "being in a group where everyone else is engaging in a false religious act, a christian may find it difficult to resist the pressure to join in.
how unwise to expose oneself to such pressure!".

please, if anyone else who got this same information at their book study, please share it.. here goes:.
there was a picture of a man standing on the watchtower keeping on the look out.

The Merry Widows/Widowers of Dubdum
by Room 215 inhi all,.
maybe this is a local phenomenon, but does it aver occur to you that jws whose mate dies often remarry in what society in general regards as an ``unseemly'' short time after the death of their spouses?
i guess the most prominent example of this is audrey knorr, who tied the knot a second time not long after ``pappy'' knorr was interred in 1977.. just wondering.
