I got the same response you did. Could it be my breathe?

God didn't answer my phone calls. I think it may have been caller ID.
by easyreader1970 ini know that there are people here with varying beliefs.
some of you are atheist, deist, agnostic, christian, etc.
i'd always been sort of teetering on the edge between deist and atheist.

If there was no global flood - does this mean that the Bible is not inspired?
by Olin Moyles Ghost indo you agree that if there was no global flood, then the bible is not inspired?
here are my thoughts.. it is pretty obvious that there was no global flood 4,000 years ago.
) that there were one or more large local floods in mesopotamia around the time of noah.

I see the believers have bailed out on this thread. And I was really looking forward to seeing how they would answer (twist) the excellent points in response to their posts.

How many here actually still believe that there is a God??
by annalice inafter being gone from the jw's for many years now , and having done extensive research on the history of god and the belief in him , i can't seem to find any logical way to have a belief in an invisble being up there ruling over us.
how many here still believe?
how many don't?.

Regarding this comment:
I think anyone who looks into a newborn's eyes will know there is a God.
What about the eyes of a horribly disfigured baby, does that still apply?

Things you wouldn't admit to when you were a JW
by startingover inremember when the speaker from another congregation didn't show up?
i can still feel the good feeling it gave me at the thought of being able to go home early.
and all through the wt, every time the door opened i remember subtlely sneaking a peak to see if it was the speaker, and when it was just a latecomer, it kept my hopes up that he wouldn't show.

Remember when the speaker from another congregation didn't show up? I can still feel the good feeling it gave me at the thought of being able to go home early. And all through the WT, every time the door opened I remember subtlely sneaking a peak to see if it was the speaker, and when it was just a latecomer, it kept my hopes up that he wouldn't show. But then the big dissappointment when the WT was over and it was announced that Brother Zealous Pioneer Elder dug an outline out of his bag. But I would never have admitted feeling like that, especially to a non JW.
Think of anything else?

I got this from a close friend of mine who had first hand experience with MJ. MJ was a JW in our KH in Woodland Hills for a time. not the same congregation, but he was around us every now and then. When I was 16, I rode, in a motor home, with mutual family friends to Dodger Stadium for a convention one summer. They had a 16 year old son, and also an 8 or 9 year old. MJ went with us, as he had befriended the family's younger boy. We 3 teens were totally star struck, but it was incredible watching MJ regress into an 8 year old around that little boy! They played cards, rock/paper/scissors and colored together. He was too shy to even talk to us teens, but totally comfortable and childlike with the boy. Looking back to that unbelievable transformation from adult to little boy, I'm 100% convinced he was never guilty of all those nasty charges brought against him. no doubt in my mind he was innocent. He was just very, very damaged emotionally and mentally - trying to make up for the childhood he never had, along with abuse from his sicko dad.

Could Watchtower Collapse Be Sooner Than You Think?
by metatron inthere have been a number of developments over the past few months and they paint an interesting picture.. witnesses can keep dragging themselves to meetings ad infinitum however, the future of the watchtower itself is another story.
the evidence of continuing cash flow problems is now overwhelming.
if you talk to well placed witnesses, most won't deny it but simply blame it on the publishers financial problems.. they have cut off loans to congregations many of whom genuinely need new kingdom halls.

Welcome.
I feel that 607 is the most important thing you can look into as it is the basis of the religion. I think this is the easiest way to understand it. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/55372/1/586-587-the-K-I-S-S-approach-no-VAT4956-Ptolemy-Josephus-needed
