Longing for the destruction of others (even if they are your enemies) is not a loving act.

Protecting peaceful and loving people IS a loving act.

Again so why did Jesus fail to recognise that nearly half the populace, the slaves needed protection ? Im pretty sure you can agree that any excuse you make is pathetic. I dont mean to be harsh or personal but lets realise that by this mistake the Jesus character is very much human, who makes mistakes. This makes the remainder of the story not that special. The miracles are of course lies, his grand promises about heaven and perfect health and so on are now worthless. I would call this a fraud and a cruel one at that.

I m sorry that you pretend that Jesus was a good man because of a few choice and selected words. Even Hitler did some good things, however you wont find me using that as an excuse for his actions and legacy.

MP: Religion is the most deadly tool ever invented

    Tammy:

I would not say that it is the most deadly tool, but it has certainly been used as a harmful tool to control, abuse, and commit crimes in the name of someone who, himself, said that he would say,

'away from me, you evildoers, i never knew you.'

Religion is not Christ. Religion is not God.

By using a completely definition that is alien to the vast majority of everyone here and in the real world, you are lying and playing word games. Everybody else when they examine the facts klnows this statement to be very much true. At best religion has never actually helped, when wiehged its failed miserably.

God protects those who belong to him at Armageddon...

It's amazing how 'Christians' don't realise how irretrievably stupid this concept is.

Again so why did Jesus fail to recognise that nearly half the populace, the slaves needed protection ?

His words and example taught that to enslave; to abuse; to force another to your will; to beat; to show lack of love or mercy.... all of these things are wrong.

His truth needed to be learned from the inside out. Then slavery is... abolished. Because none listening to him, and learning his truth, will ever have it in them... to even think or enslave or abuse another living being.

Christ dealt with the root (what is within)... not the surface. Change what is within a person... and the rest comes naturally.

Im pretty sure you can agree that any excuse you make is pathetic.

Ah... no. Not so much. This statement is kinda funny though.

I dont mean to be harsh or personal but lets realise that by this mistake the Jesus character is very much human, who makes mistakes.

We do not agree that He made any sort of mistake in this. We simply do not see eye to eye on what it was He DID do. (change the heart... and the rule will follow)

I am sorry that you have allowed yourself to even think that they could be compared.

You do not know Christ, mP. I am sorry, but this version that you think is true... is a lie.

Longing for the destruction of others (even if they are your enemies) is not a loving act.

So you have removed the focus away from the act...and towards the christians who think this act is loving...they believe it is loving for whatever reason. Mainly because god is love and he can't act any other way...so their conclusion...armageddon is an act of love.

So lets remove the longing of people and focus on the act itself.

Is armageddon a loving act on gods part? Do you believe armageddon will happen or not?

Protecting peaceful and loving people IS a loving act.

And yes, I think it will happen.

(Not until long after Christ returns and gathers his own to Him, and invites the 'sheep' into His Kingdom. Then those outside (the goats) will come to destroy those inside.)

I like the way you rephrase it to "protecting peaceful and loving people"...sounds so much nicer than destroying the wicked...LOL and so much more loving........is it hard to say armageddon is a loving act?

I think it is a necessary, but sad and unfortunate thing.

Do you think it would be loving of God to allow a peaceful and loving people whom He has promised to protect to be victims of those who would come and destroy them?

This statement is completely false. Xians were one of the leading proponents of slavery until recent times. Slavery today was only abolished because of England and one of the main opponents of abolishm was the Church of England. At no stage did the Archibishop of Canterbury or Pope ever make any declaration to encourage the masses to abolish slavery. Amazingly the church often encouraged nations to war because of various matters, eg Spain was told to attack England because it started its own church and yet absolute nothing about slavery.

Its really sad that you have to lie, the legacy of xianity is the complete opposite of what you stated.
