Can you please explain to me how accepting Jesus as one's savior is a fantasy when compared to the alternatives?

What are the alternatives? Not making something up to fill a need? Personally, I prefer that alternative.

It would appear that Jesus *stole* much of his moral advice from other beliefs...looks like you can replace christ with any other belief you choose. And most of the world do.

That's not a viable alternative. What's actually made up is your assertion that an intelligent Creator is a made up concept. You don't have proof to assert it outside of your own life.

You cannot replace Christ with the morals that science has indentified in the human brain because it's a downgrade.

If this is the case, why are you looking to Confucius or the iching to teach you? Why don't you just do what tec does and get a direct line to Jesus? Why are YOU looking elsewhere? Cant Jesus explain these things to you himself?

LOL...but you have proof he isn't a made up concept?

If Adam and Eve were not real, if that story is a myth...and Jesus came to atone for their sins...what makes his atonement real?

God has always existed within the minds of humanity and it's cultures. To say he doesn't exist is simply a fallacy. The way God manifests through humanity has never been fully understood or that understanding has been lost. But the consistency of which God does manifest through humanity in different ways is evidence that God exists and works differently for different people. The constant is the benefit people get out of the relationship.

Dan Ariely is a professor of Psychology and Behavioral Economics at Duke University. He set out to uncover the truth about people who lie or cheat…and guess what! Almost everyone lies or cheats a little.

That’s his finding…most of us only lie a little so we can still think of ourselves as good people. However, the cost of many little lies can add up quicker than a few big lies.

Ariely and his crew conduct a number of experiments that find that people, when given the opportunity to lie for financial gain, will do so. But if he had test subjects try to remember the Ten Commandments before given a test that they could get away with cheating on, they didn’t cheat at all! Same thing with taking a test after swearing on a Bible to not cheat…no cheating! And this even applied to those who do not believe in God.

This man's book shows evidence that reading about the 10 commandments will make you cheat less. Cheating is a blight on society because it gives an official stance on someone's worth where it may be wrong. Cheating is lying. Even atheists who were involved in this test didn't cheat as much after thinking about the 10 commandments and then taking a test. There really is something to writing down the morals that already exist within the natural world. Morality is part of reality, not made up by humans.

Yes I do it's called the evidence of corroborating independent conclusions across multiple cultural platforms. Because all cultures who have ever existed have been founded on the idea of God that serves as evidence, even proof, that someone/something does indeed exist. Some force exists that people call "God." That force can be studied and conclusions can be drawn. God doesn't not exist.

Yes, morals are a part of reality....and they have evolved with humanity.

Sorry...none of that is proof of anything but humans trying to explain things they don't understand. The 'forces' that people thought were gods were wind, rain, sun, thunder, lightening....we can explain these now.

And the biggest fear....death....beliefs around this have evolved too. It has changed from no afterlife to afterlife in heaven...reincarnation...and all sorts of variations of this. But there is no evidence for any of these beliefs whatsoever. It is wishful thinking because death is a hard pill to swallow.

Yes they did, but they evolved because they had to. There are pre existing variables that can be studied and theories can be made. That's what religion is for, to gather and compile that set of data. Similarly as we predicted the Higgs Boson before we actually had empirical data, we can postulate the existence of a Creator without empirical data. In no way is the belief in God required to life a normal life, but in no way can anyone on this planet say for certain that there is no Creator of ALL things. There are beings who are about the continued existence of humanity and the link in the chain we provide. The show must go on.

Oh yeah that's right, we have to be humble like you and not believe in a Creator...
