Big Tex : You sound like a real gentle man as your wife is a wonderful lady. Thanks for not being abrasive. I was surfing and found this site. I was intrigued by Poohs quest and decided to give her my five cents worth. Nothing more ... nothing less. Things kept piling on and here we are. I feel I have as much right here as any of the rest of you 'till I'm told differently by the owner. Take care ... northern girl.

ok... Northern Girl... when you return and check this... will you answer one question please, no rush I can check it later...

Question: What do believe about GOD? I don't mean "list the doctrines and scriptures you were taught".. I mean... What do YOU believe GOD is? (no quotes or scriptures please) What do YOU believe GOD wants from people? Forget about "religion".... I mean GOD... remember God? The one who was here before all the protocol, and doctrines and time cards that you fill out for going house-to-house.

Again, no confrontation, this is an honest question that I ask of all Jw's. Most reply with the same re-hearsed answers they were taught. Just tell me everything that comes to your mind when you think of that wich dwells in the heavens. That wich is greater than ourselves.

It is my personal belief that THIS QUESTION and its answer, when truly shared with each other, can help everyone come to an understanding and tolerant view of each other. BUT to date, I get very few honest answers....

OK -- has anyone noticed yet (sorry I have not read all of the pages on this thread) that POOH wrote her story and hasn't been heard from since? Five pages and not one response from the person in need of help?

Although I guess there's a nice little controversy brewing... from which I will bow out.

    Just a heads up!

badolputtytat : I've had some time to think over what you asked. You likely won"t like this but I feel that since God is a spirit and we are flesh, we really have no concept of his actual being, nor should we wonder. Our place is here, by His allowing it and His is the whole universe and whatever else there is. Other than knowing man is made in his image, in that we can love, learn and participate in our choices, the only other concept I have is purity, joy and true love. I know He hears honest prayers and will be with those who follow His ways. His best example for us to understand would be Jesus' life on earth as a picture for us to try to do our best to copy ... that's it ... northern girl.

    Welcome Northern Girl!!!

If you wish to copy his works, why do you need men to tell you how to do so and if your are living up to their ( men, the GB) standards?

Why not just live up to what you believe God and Jesus taught?

    Welcome again

Cassi : Thanks for the welcome. I believe God's word is the bible as a guide for us. God is the head of Jesus, Jesus is the head of man. Jesus is our intermediary to God and through the scriptures we get our guidance. I believe the GB is inspired by God and are doing His will for us. Otherwise, with no leadership, we'd all go our own way like sheep without a shephard ... northern girl.

Okay northern girl, do you not question the society at all on it's validity? What about the constantly shifting "new light" when their predictions fail? Their cult-like insistincy that you should not look at anything that might make you question their brand of "truth"?

I was raised a witness and even after I physically left I spent years believing they were still right. I was going to clean up my act and become an active member again, someday. When I finally started to do a little research I realized that they are a cult and no, they do not have the truth after all. What a relief! How many years I wasted in feeling guilt! I spent years defending a faith I wasn't activly participating in. I've been where you are northern girl and I'm glad I've moved on.

I wish you nothing but the best either way.

Aztec : Did you do research on cults on your own or just hear from exJWs. There is a big difference because what you learn here is bound to be slanted against JWs. It's pretty easy to label a group as a cult and then close your mind to any further learning ... northern girl

    northern girl,

The blood doctrine is quite unbiblical, and kills people,

The shunning doctrine is quite unbiblical, destroys families and individuals, and sometimes, it kills people.

The 144k doctrine is laughable in it's stupidity. A literal number? lol, dumbasses.

The F&DS "class" doctrine is also laughable in it's stupidity. Go read the two places in scripture that a "faithful and discreet slave" is mentioned. It's a frickin' rhetorical question, fergodsake!

The "new light" concept, is laughable, and depends on twisting scripture. Go read the scripture that speaks of the light getting brighter. Read the surrounding verses. Get the context. Laugh at JW's.

So Jesus came in 1914 eh? lol.
