Different certainly, but better?
Yes, because they are exceptions and we changed laws to try and prevent repeat happenings. We setup agencies to protect people. In some countries, there is no one coming to help you. Why? Because they are "better" cultures? Don't make me laugh.
Can you even name all the Muslims who've committed mass killings? Your list would be a much longer one.
"our" mass killers are notorious. Theirs are heroes. There's a big difference in cultures.
BTW: When are you planning on booking your flight to enjoy the much better culture they have to offer?

A columbine reference? You have got to be kidding me. I cant even comprehend that bit of stupid. How far will you go to try and make isis terror attacks seem "normal"?? Absolute insanity. A comparison flawed beyond words. I cant even wrap my mind around your intent.

Some questions to answer about which culture is better:
Would you rather be tried before a jury of your peers in a Western democracy, or a religious court in an Islamic theocracy?
How many Western cities have gay pride parades vs cities in Islamic cultures?
How many Western nations ban women from driving, vs Islamic nations that do so?
How many Western nations ban women from voting? Or owning property?
How many Western countries ban women from appearing in public without a male escort?
How many Western countries treat homosexuality as a capital offense?
I'm sure there are more that could be added to the list. Personally, I'm glad I live where I do.

walls were build to keep people from voting with their feet to live in better cultures.
The berlin E/W german wall, to keep them from fleeing the bad one. The partial San Diego/ Brownsville example to keep the coming managed. but
if you come to the new culture of your choice (or your parents did), respect the new one, and show gratitude, not deadly hostility. and:
Those bemoaning the exploitation of natural resources in the still third world. : Why did you not on your own develop the means to bring them to market? and control the flow of the resulting riches into the hands of the few among you with swiss bank accounts?

Those bemoaning the exploitation of natural resources in the still third world
... are probably also the first to complain about the price of gas or in the line to buy a new shiny consumer product manufactured abroad from rare and precious resources.
Consumers have more power than they realize and often, what people chose to spend their money on and time complaining about, highlights their true values and hypocrisy.

They look pretty similar to me: young men, few friends, socially awkward, lack of achievement, hedonistic lifestyles, drawn to extremist ideologies, no empathy for others. The list could go on. They look pretty similar to me!

Apart from extreme ideologies none of that applies to the middle-class doctor and engineer who attacked Glasgow airport.

In their case they were motivated by western atrocities in Falkujah from what I understand.
