Or you don't have the same experiences as i have.

I guess you missed where I was molested, raped, stalked, harrassed, abused, beaten, treated like shit by your friend on this forum.....

I know people who do not share those goals. I know many people who believe vengeance is better than forgiveness. Who STATE so, clearly. I know people who think that the herd (humans) should be culled, so that there should be no money wasted on bringing comfort to the elderly or the terminally ill. They should just...die. And i know people who WANT to hold onto anger. Do they ever change and grow? Some do... and I hope the others will. But that does not change that at any given time, there are many people who do not share those goals.

I guess I hang out with a more positive bunch of people than you do. I still believe the best of all my fellow humans, not just the ones who share my religious beliefs.

I am glad. I don't hang out with many people, but I do know many people. That is the only reason that i state that I do not think that all people share the same goals. Because some show me otherwise.

I do not divide this into those who share my beliefs vs. those who do not. Most of the time I have no idea what someone believes or not. It is not brought up unless someone volunteers the info, normally.

    I did not miss it.

I, too, have been molested, harassed, and abused (sexual, emotional, verbal). Never raped or beaten though. But it is another reason why I can say that not all share the same goals. Hopefully, they one day DO learn to share those goals. But for now, many people do not.

I am sorry for the pain and abuse you have had.

    Peace,

    tammy

Do you think that because this is what you have concluded that it must be the end product and if others conclude something different, then they are all wrong. Only you can be right?...tec in response to KS

Have you not concluded this about Jesus, that you are right?

I have learned to forgive (more so than before). I have learned to be free (from lies, from religious trappings)... and also be free to love anyone and everyone, to let go of anger or impatience (I fail sometimes, but I let go so much faster than I ever did before). I have learned not to fear this world, or God, nor disease (i never feared death)... nor to despair, and I am learning more from Him all the time. I have learned to give, I have learned to speak without fear (still learning this one). I have hope and strength and peace and comfort in Him.

This has become much more valid in my life since I stopped believing in a non exsistent god. I have learned to be free from religious trappings. I am free to love anyone without condition. I have no more fear of this world, or the next. I have a healthy respect for disease and natural disaster. I feel no despair. I have become MUCH more giving than ever before in my life...and feel much more genuine. Speaking without fear has been a long process for me...and has nothing whatsoever to do with a god. It is about feeling the fear, and doing it anyway.

I have a hope and respect for humanity that I never had before. I see humanity through new eyes. Every life is unique, and we need to help one another because if we don't. No one will. It's the only life we have, so when it is lost through war or starvation it grieves me terribly. Our time on earth is a once in a life time opportunity...how lucky are we.

    Charles Darwin

“There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.”

    For you KS:

1 Cor 4 - 10 We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!

Usually Xians object when non-believers take scriptures out of context, but this is interesting, forcing a non-believer to point out that the scriptural context is a Xian (Paul) speaking to OTHER Xians, and NOT Paul directing those words to non-believers.

Are you trying to prove that you now understand what taking something "out of context" means, by doing it with your own Bible? Touche', if so. Go back 3 spaces, if not intentional.

You choose to accept a fantasy, but hopefully a part of you understands that your rejection of reality IS only that: a self-induced delusion, a denial.

Can you please explain to me how accepting Jesus as one's savior is a fantasy when compared to the alternatives? Everything is a fantasy until proof of everything is attainable. There is no such thing as a "best guess" as to what reality is. Actual reality is all or nothing there is no inbetween. Within reality there are only objects and those objects have properties and methods. The properties and methods are controlled by protocols imagined up by intelligence. Reality is imagination. You cannot replace Christ with the morals that science has indentified in the human brain because it's a downgrade. You cannot go ahead of your own Creator, but it's interesting to watch the attempts. Carry on, people are watching and learning.
